Location and Surf Conditions
Our base is in Lajares, Fuerteventura, perfectly placed between El Cotillo, Majanicho, and the Corralejo dunes. You’ll have access to all the best surf spots within 15 minutes. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced surfer, we've got waves for everyone.
Lajares is your peaceful escape. The village has its own laid-back charm, and our surf house offers plenty of space to unwind. When you're in the mood for some energy, there's always something happening around here – from live music on Wednesdays to Friday night adventures in Corralejo. We also keep our ear to the ground for those special island parties, whether it's at a villa or deep in the desert.
Why Lajares and not Corralejo? Well, we’re closer to the surf spots – especially the North Shore, where you’ll find the most consistent breaks. Plus, it's super easy to catch a taxi for a night out, and it’s only €20 split between six people. And trust me, you don’t want to miss the desert parties or Canela Café’s jam sessions!
The Vibe
Our camp draws in an epic crowd – mostly solo travelers and small groups of adults aged 23 to 35, all looking for more than just a holiday. If you’re into surfing, staying active, and finding a space to reset, this is the spot for you. We’re all about tuning into the energy of each group, so we don’t just stick to a set routine. Instead, we let you guys decide what kind of activities will make this week your perfect surf camp experience.
We've got over 30 activities to choose from! Want to meditate on the beach, battle it out in a volleyball tournament, or get a little wild with charades or a party game? The choice is yours! The camp is cozy, too, with only 12-18 people per week, which keeps the family vibes strong while giving you plenty of room to breathe and reflect. We love a good conversation, so we keep it all in English in the common areas, making sure everyone’s in on the fun.
About Us
Kyuka Surfclub was started by my brother, Timo, and me after our first surf trip left us hooked on this lifestyle. We wanted to create a space where people feel at home, relaxed, and part of something bigger than just a surf camp. Timo’s the operational guy, and I handle the business side, with some help from Anina, who brings her creative touch to the commercial end of things. Oh, and we’ve got Buddy – our Italian greyhound mascot, who’ll win your heart and keep things chill around the camp.
Accommodation and Food
We’ve got single and double rooms, all with private bathrooms, so you’ve got your own space to unwind after a full day of surfing and activities. You won’t need to worry about anything – we provide linens, towels, fast Wi-Fi, a gym, pool, and even a games room. Everything you need for a cozy, comfortable stay is here.
As for food, you’re all covered with our full board setup. We serve up healthy, energizing meals designed for active people. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or have any dietary restrictions, we’ve got you!
Surf Lessons and More
We keep the group sizes small – just five people per instructor, so you’ll get plenty of attention and personalized coaching, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your technique. We spend about 4 hours a day in the water, depending on the conditions, and you’ll learn everything from paddling and balance to wave selection and maneuvers. For those who want to level up, our TightArcs surf coaching program offers advanced, tailored sessions with video analysis and personal feedback.
Not bringing your own board? No worries! Our surf school provides all the gear you need for the surf lessons. If you're after performance boards, we’ll help you rent the best ones for your skill level.
Beyond the Waves
Each week, we let you guys vote on three activities from a long list. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on offer: beach meditation, volleyball, beer pong, karaoke, sunset hikes, movie nights, or even tricking classes. There’s something for everyone!
Additionally, every week includes two sessions with Robbie, our seasoned mobility coach. Got any kind of injury? Robbie has got you covered and will make sure you will feel confident in your surf sessions.
Of course that is not all. While flexibility is a key component during surfing, it is also crucial to be ready for the ocean. So we practice Wim Hom breath work twice a week to prepare you for any kind of hold down or washing machine that you might get into.
And for those of you who like to get technical - surfskating is also included. It's a weekly highlight by our amazing coach Charlie. He's not only sponsored by multiple brands but also a great teacher. He will show you these gnarly surf moves on the dry land, where you can actually rinse and repeat them easily and get your surf movements to the next level.
We’re also surrounded by some incredible natural beauty, perfect for hiking, trail running, or just soaking up the sun. You’ll find a buzzing local scene here in Lajares, with artisan markets, cozy bars like Canela Café, and more happening just a short trip away in Corralejo.
How to Get Here
All our packages include transportation to and from the airport, and we’ve got all your travel needs covered. If you prefer to rent a car, we’re on Calle Mazo 13 in Lajares. Easy to find, and once you’re here, everything’s sorted for an amazing surf trip.
