The Camp
Dreamsea Surf Camp Portugal is located in the campsite Camping Galé, in a pine forest just next to one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, “Praia da Galé”. The campsite offers great facilities such as swimming pool, beach bar, tennis court, futsal court, Wi-fi area, barbecues, ping-pong, mini ramp, volley ball area, slack line, indoboard and as well as a few stores inside the camp which include: supermarket, restaurant and bar.
Location
Praia da Galé is situated on the west coast of Portugal, near the town of Melides. Is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, and also a great place to surf, kilometers of virgin white sand beach, sunny weather, clean water and good waves make of this spot a magic place for everybody, and specially for surfers.
It is not by chance that Dreamsea has chosen this spot in order to open a surf camp in Portugal. The mid-west coast of Portugal is a perfect destination for surfing due to the constant swell, variety of waves and great sunny weather all year long. It thrives with life, where young people from all over Europe come to enjoy their summer holidays, where you will enjoy the sun, beaches, waves, sport, youth, beauties, surf, and specially the great environment.

At Dreamsea Portuga Alentejo, guests have a choice between two tent options: Glamping or Sharing Tents. Alternatively, for added comfort during your surf camp experience, you can also opt for our bungalows. In either scenario, both our high-quality bell tents and bungalows offer perfect and comfortable accommodations, ensuring you make the most of your outdoor holiday.

A fantastic choice for enjoying the surf camp experience without compromising comfort and privacy. Cozy, boho decorated, and equipped with a private bathroom and kitchenware. We have two options available: a bungalow featuring a double bed and sofa or with 2 single beds and a sofa, ideal for friends and families (up to 5 people).

Surfing lessons and beach
Our lessons include: the introduction (1h), the lesson (2h), the theory (1h30), and the equipment (soft-top boards, wetsuit, and leash). For Level 1 and 2, we include surf skating or fitness sessions (1h) . Video analysis is included only in surf Level 2. The schedule will be determined at the camp upon arrival and will depend on your level and the ocean conditions.
In Dreamsea Surf Camp you will be safe and comfortable all the time in the water because we provide one instructor and one assistant per eight students. Our instructors will be in the water helping you out, so you will take advantage of the personal attendance our instructors will give you. Your instructor will be the same all the week long, meaning a better communication flow.
Our surf camp we have the best equipment, that you can use, even after the surfing lessons, all for free.
Our surfing program is divided in three levels:
We want you to enjoy and take advantage of the learning process, to improve and to rip the waves. That's why we have divided our surfing program in three different levels. Please, be honest and realistic with your level when you are up to choose a program. Read carefully the prerequisites of our available levels and get the one that better matches your surf skills.
All levels welcome!!
LEVEL 0: THE BASICS
Get the feeling of ride small rolling and breaking waves on easy to follow steps. You will be losing your balance and falling off, enjoy the benefits of drinking salty water and stand up again. We guarantee you will stand-up having fun and a lot of laughs. Prerequisite : None, suitable for first-time surfers or those who surf a few times before and wish to get the right technique from the beginning in order to progress faster.
LEVEL 1: THE PATTERNS
Leaving the Nest: Get excited, challenge yourself, understand the waves and how it works, timing & take off and perform front & back side turns. Prerequisite : Comfortable with the basics of surfing. Able to catch, balance and stand regularly and comfortably on broken waves without assistance. Able to catch the occasional green small waves if the conditions let us do it
LEVEL 2: THE STYLISH
I want to be independent! Join the line-up and surf other waves. It takes courage, it’s exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. An adrenaline shot. Prerequisite : Good board control and balancing skills, Can perform front & back side turns, Timing & take off not consistent, Good fitness & swimming skills
In Alentejo, there are beautiful beaches a 10mn walk from our camp. For surfing, we provide daily shuttles to the beach. In Alentejo, we also collaborate with local surf schools, leveraging their expertise to enhance the quality of our lessons. It allows more personalized attention, reducing the number of participants at the surf spot and providing a more authentic experience.
Yoga lessons
Yoga at Dreamsea Alentejo offers a profound connection with the mind, body and nature, thanks to its serene surroundings. It provides an ideal and peaceful setting to deepen and embrace your practice. You can enhance your experience by adding daily yoga lessons to your package at Dreamsea.
Weekly activities
At Dreamsea, you’ll meet people from all over the world and share amazing experiences together. From our tours to Lisbon to delightful concerts at the camp, you can dance, laugh, skate, play, party, or simply relax during movie nights. We’ll have a flexible weekly plan that you’re free to join! Take some time to discover the authenticity of Portugal’s Alentejo, with its natural beauty, unspoiled beaches, and traditional fishing villages that reflect its rich cultural heritage. Enjoy horseback riding or hiking along coastal trails, explore hidden seaside coves, and, most importantly, don’t miss experiencing the authentic culinary traditions of the Alentejo region. It is a must!
Beach volley tournament
After a few days in the camp it’s time to see who has improved the most playing beach volley, join our volley tournament and win fantastic prizes, good fun guaranteed!
Ping Pong
Now it’s time for the Ping Pong tournament. Show your skills with the table tennis bat in tough duels.
Movie night
Once per week we will show a movie at our amazing summer cinema, get a good place and enjoy our selection of movies.
Pizza festival & farewell party
One day per week, usually on Fridays, we organize a delicious barbecue. Because for most of you the Friday night will be the last night in the surf camp, so it´s time to say goodbye, (or rather, see you soon), to all the new good friends and this magical place, so let’s party and enjoy every single second of the last night.
Food
We take pride in serving tasty, and energizing meals that accommodate different dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options. Upon request, we also provide a gluten-free menu for those with intolerances (not suitable for allergies). Our daily menu includes breakfast, a convenient lunch box ideal for your surfing day, and dinner. Our cuisine is a fusion of international influences, and the social atmosphere during meals among guests enhances the overall experience.
Our philosophy is to create a sustainable environment through the respect of nature, while encouraging the physical activity. We do believe in a healthy style of life, specially for young people.
Nature
An active respect of nature is one of the keys of the philosophy in our surf camp, for this reason Dreamsea Surf Camp actively participates in cleaning beaches programs. Collaborating with important NGO´s as "Surfrider foundation".
Recycling is a key factor in Dreamsea Surf Camp, so we do always separate and classify the wastes, contributingto respect and save the environment.
Youth
It is our dream that young people from all around the world can come to our surf camp to share experiences, culture and values, enjoying a lifetime experience and the best holidays they could ever dream of.

As we had explained in our philosophy, it is not a classic business, we believe there are a lot of things more important than money. Our goal is to transmit some principles, a healthy, active and full of energy way of life through sport like surfing.
• Because in our surf camp you will have a great bed with a visco-elastic mattress. We know after a exhausting day a good rest is essential, forget about shabby beds and mattresses, in our surf camp you will be able to have a duly rest.
• Because we truly respect nature, that is why we do recycle everything we can, having different bins, and encouraging all our guets to recycle. Along with other surf camps we organize a "Cleaning the beach" event once a week.
Getting there
BY PLANE:
Traveling by plane is always a good choice, safe and fast, and if you are lucky and can find a good flight, it is also an economic way to travel. Find a flight from your home city to one of the nearest airports, and you can contact us to hire our economic shuttle service, we will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the surf camp.
- LISBOA AIRPORT (LIS)
Lisbon airport is the nearest airport to Dreamsea Surf Camp Portugal and best option if you plan to arrive by plane, located about 120 minutes away from the surf camp by car, you can find cheap flights from most of the European cities to Lisbon airport.
– We can pick you up from Lisbon Airport, the price for this service is 45€ per person.
– You can also take the Subway from the Airport to the bus stop (http://www.rede-expressos.pt/) which will drop you in Porto Covo, 5 min from the camp. We can pick you up from there for 5€.
- FARO AIRPORT (FAO)
Faro airport is also a good option to get to Dreamsea Surf Camp Portugal, less than 2 hour from the surf camp.
There is the option of taking a bus to Faro Bus Station, and from there to Porto Covo. More info about the buses at http://www.rede-expressos.pt/ .
BY CAR
If you have your own car or coming by rental car, we have free parking space at the campsite, where you can safely leave your car for a week or two. Remember, the destination is:
